Get Acquainted with "The Personal Side of Donna"

WHO am I?  What are my roots?

I originate from New Effington, South Dakota.  My working career began at age 12 progressing from grocery stores and restaurants through the US Postal Service, the University of North Dakota, Property and Casualty insurance, banking, association management and finally to real estate in 1989.

I grew up in a small, rural community enjoying the company of my older sister, Muriel, who, sadly,  is now in the advanced stages of Alzheimers and my older brother, Dan, who was killed at age 31.  My parents are deceased.

My dear cousin, Kathy, and I have been together since we were babies and since both of our families are completely gone, we are no longer cousins, but "sisters and best friends."  We travel together a great deal.

My family:

Daughter, Tami lives in Grand Forks with her husband Dean and their three children who bring me great joy.  I love attending Brittany's concerts and theater and Al and Aaron's hockey and baseball events.  This is one busy family and I continually wonder how they do it.  Tami is an appraiser in Grand Forks for Anderson Appraisals.  Dean is good to his mother in law and he gracefully puts up with me!

My son, Kelly, lives in Rapid City with his wife, Brenda.  Kelly's children, Zach and Katrina are far away, but they keep me current with their hockey schedules and I have so much fun being with them and their hockey teams.   The oil industry loves my consumption of gas attending their events.   Kelly is an engineer with Black Hills Power.

In September of 2006, I re-married and became Donna Wolfe-Sholes.

My husband, Les Sholes, owns Fat Cat Productions as well as a service business and rental properties.  He has won many awards for his innovative and creative production ideas.  There's always something "new" in the works.

A mixed source of my consternation and enjoyment:

Les' only child, Ozzy (a 5-year old Schnauzer) is a source of many "discussions" between us.  Les has "plead Ozzy's case more than once.  Daily, I thank the good Lord Les never had any children.  If they were as spoiled as this animal, they'd be incarcerated.  Actually, he's a pretty good little bow-ser, but there were moments he is lucky to have survived finding his way through puppy-hood!

My passions and my interests:

I love the ballet and the symphony.   I have traveled fairly extensively and I'll never get enough.  Les and I spend as much time as possible at our lake home,  we ride our Harley Davidsons, and we are so grateful for  quality time with our family and our friends.

In conclusion:

Life has been good to me.   I am blessed and I am grateful.
